SPEARFISH is a surf film that documents Mikey February testing and finetuning a new signature model he designed with Channel Islands Surfboards, dubbed the Feb’s Fish. Watch him draw fast, beautiful, precise lines and gauging turns on this twin fin fish in Mexico, Morocco, California, Maldives, and Indonesia. Spearfish was created by Mikey’s new video platform “Spearhead Unlimited,” with primary filming captured by Ian Thurtell, editing by Sam Smith and an original musical score by the Albert Bof trio.

Over a few cervezas during a surf trip to Mexico in the summer of 2019, Hawaiians Mike Ito and Keoki Seygeebo decided to join forces and start their very own surf magazine, Lost Not Found. Combining Ito’s career in art direction and photography with Saguibo’s background in surf photography and journalism, they sent their first edition to print during the height of the pandemic in 2020. With magazines continuing to disappear from news stands across the world, Ito and Saguibo prioritized their passions over the digits in their bank accounts. Four years and five issues in, Lost Not Found show no signs of slowing down and remain steadfast in their belief that magazines are an integral part of surf culture.

Our Field Notes series continues with hosts Britt Merrick and Brent Power: This time, following Barron Mamiya’s Pipeline Pro victory, which started off the 2024 WSL Championship Tour season with a bang! Riding a one-off custom Britt had shaped him, Barron took out the most coveted event win of the year. This episode documents the run from Pipeline through Sunset Beach and also features other riders such as Imaikalani deVault, Parker Coffin, Lakey Peterson, Matt McGillivray, Alyssa Spencer, Cam Richards, Ewe Wong and Mason Barnes. Britt also shares that the infamous board from “Thicker than Water” is making a come back.

Britt Merrick and CI’s Global Team Manager Brent Power just spent a few weeks on North Shore to dial in quivers for CI's CT 2024 Surfers: Joao Chianca, Barron Mamiya, Lakey Peterson, Imaikalani DeVault, Alyssa Spencer, and Matt MacGillivray. They met everyday, surfed, talked about the boards' pros and cons, took notes and went home to fix any needed refinements. The work they did collectively on dialing in boards will ensure these CT surfers are 100% ready for Pipe and Sunset—there will be no second guessing what they are riding, regardless of whatever Mother Nature has in store for those events. The video is a fly-on-the-wall view of Britt and Brent's time with these 6 surfers, and includes insightful commentary about how they approached this process. And, of course, there was lot of great waves and surfing as the backdrop to their R&D sessions.

The G Skate Demo Tapes' Hawaii edition follows the Gudauskas Brothers during their month long stay on the North Shore of Oahu. While there, the three brothers (Dane, Pat & Tanner) tested out a new design they dubbed the G Skate which was the result of a collaboration with Britt Merrick. During their month long stay, it was pumping nearly the entire time—allowing them to feel out a feel range of possibilities with this shorter railed design. As you'll see, this skatey style board allowed them to draw some very creative lines. Along the way, they shared their boards with other CI team riders like Michael February, Imaikalani DeVault, Reef Haezlewood and more. This edit captures the radical surfing that went down during those sessions.

Watch some of CI's leading Team Riders in a purely surf action "TEAM EDIT" for the Dumpster Diver 2. The idea for this board came when Dane was riding his original Dumpster Diver while filming "Out of the Rafters" edit for Chapter 11 last year. He was was tripping out how how tiny and short the Dumpster Diver felt and wanted to build a longer - modernized version that still tapped into the magic of the original. The DD2 has a wider nose and tail, more nose and tail rocker, and a more subtle single concave. These updates, among other tweaks, allow the board to excel in a wider range of conditions and letting your rip as hard as you think you do.
